About Training Courses
Whether you’re a regular or occasional ladder user, do you really know how to use them safely? Do you know when it’s right to use a ladder (and when it’s not), which ladder to use, how to store and inspect them, how to identify hazards when using ladders AND your legal obligations?
The Ladder Association are committed to the highest standards of practice and operate the industry standard training scheme which trains thousands of delegates each year through a select network of approved training centres. All Ladder Association training centres are audited annually to ensure that they continue to meet the stringent standard set by us.
The Ladder Association has a range of courses to ensure everyone responsible for, and undertaking, work at height using ladders has the knowledge and understanding to work safely:
- Ladders and Stepladders for Users - this half-day course is for anyone who regularly uses ladders or stepladders as part of their daily work.
- Ladders and Stepladders Inspection - half day course offering practical guidance for those responsible for inspecting and maintaining ladders or stepladders in their workplace.
- Combined User and Inspection - full day course to equip users also responsible for inspection, to understand legislation, standards, hazards and risks, use and inspection of ladders at work.
- Steps and Step Stools for Users - this shorter course (around 2.5 hours) is aimed at more occasional users of stepladders and step stools – those working in shops, offices, schools, hospitals and other sectors where using this equipment to access height is infrequent.
Upon completion of a Ladder Association training course, you’ll be awarded a LadderCard - which can help you to prove competence as required by the Work at Height Regulations.
